Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrive in Kathmandu and prepare for the Rara journey. Final arrangements, briefing, and rest before starting the road adventure.

Drive to Nepalgunj

Travel by tourist bus or private vehicle from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. The drive moves through winding highways, rivers, small towns, and hillside views before reaching the warm lowland city of Nepalgunj. Overnight stay and rest.

Drive Toward the Rara Region

Continue the long scenic drive deeper into western Nepal. The landscape becomes more remote and dramatic, with forests, hills, and rural settlements along the way. Reach a stopover point closer to the Rara region and stay overnight in a simple lodge.

Trek Toward Rara Lake

Begin trekking toward Rara Lake through peaceful pine forests and mountain trails. As you climb higher, the air becomes fresh and the scenery opens up into wide valleys and quiet wilderness. Arrive near the lake area and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Explore Rara & Return Journey Begins

Spend the morning exploring Rara Lake with walking along its shoreline, enjoying viewpoints, and absorbing the calm beauty of Nepal’s largest lake. Later, begin the return journey by trekking and driving back toward lower regions for an overnight stay.

Return to Kathmandu

Continue the long scenic drive back to Kathmandu. As the journey ends, you return with unforgettable memories of remote roads, mountain villages, and the peaceful blue waters of Rara Lake.
